Fathima Babu Early Life
Fathima Babu was born on the 6th of August 1968 in Pondicherry, Tamil Nadu. She completed her schooling and degree in Pondicherry. She got her BA degree from Bharathidasan Government College for Women in Pondicherry. She has always been a vivid reader. Her favorite hobby is to cook. She loves trying out new recipes.
Family
Fathima Babu tied the knot with a businessman of Pondicherry at the age of 22. She has three kids, two sons, and a daughter. Her son Shahrukh babu is an entrepreneur like his father. She currently lives in Chennai with her family.
Television and Film career
Fathima Babu worked as a news reader in a Tamil channel DD Pothigai which was the Tamil adaption of Doordarshan. She worked as a news reader/ anchor in her early days. She then started modeling and auditioning for roles in films. She started acting in films in the early 1980s. She acted in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam industries. She made her breakthrough with a supporting role in a Tamil film called Kalki. This movie bought her great recognition and opportunities. In the 1990s she made her appearances in tv serials. She then landed with roles in many daily soaps but she was most appreciated for her role in a Tamil serial Yardi Nee Mohini.

Films
Fathima Babu’s debut Tamil movie was Kalki in 1996. After that, she did many hit movies like Ulavuthurai, Mugam, Ninaivirukkum Varai, Minnale, Ali Arjuna, Indru, Adavadi and more. Her first Malayalam movie was Ali Bhai in 2007 in which she played the role of Ambu’s wifi. She also appeared in a Telugu movie called Kathanayakudu which was released in 2008. This film was starring actors like Rajini Kanth and Jagapathi Babu. It was a remake of the Malayalam hit film Katha Parayumbol.
Political career
Fathima Babu has always been an active participant in social work. In 2016, she joined the AIADMK party. AIADMK – All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Khazhagam party was founded by G. Ramachandran on 17-10-1972. The party has ruled Tamil Nadu on several occasions.
