Rekka Review : Rekka is action-masala film written and directed by Rathina Shiva. The film features Vijay Sethupathi and Lakshmi Menon in the lead roles, while Sathish, K. S. Ravikumar and Sriranjani play supporting roles
The story-line of Movie Rekka revolves around the life an advocate named Shiva and his love interest. The role of Shiva is played by Vijay and the role of her lover is played by Lakshmi, who is a village damsel.
The film opens with Kabir Khan a deadly gangster killing the brother of another gangster Harish Uttaman As the movie progress, Shiva has to face a situation where he is bound to kidnap a girl with Comedian Sathish
The childish stunt choreography lets him down big time. Lakshmi Menon poor acting once agian. Sathish is there in a few scenes but it comedy that is missing in the entire film. K.S. Ravikumar, Sri Ranjini, Kabir Khan and Harish Uttaman have given uniformly good performances. Kishore as a doctor who becomes mentally ill and the girl who plays his lover are two memorable characters in the film.Rekka is set in locations of Madurai and Kumbakonam of Tamil Nadu.
The movie has received mixed response from the audience. The plot of the movie is weak and boring and the acting of the actors were average.
Verdict : Rekka is Masala package unexpected from a actor like Vijay sethupathy. Fails to Entertain us !!
