Avengers: Infinity War has smashed all previous records of Hollywood films in India.The movie is now in its the first weekend after the release of superhero team is over. Avengers: Infinity War earned $630 million (approximately Rs 4181 crore) at the box office in its first weekend, making it the largest global weekend tally in the history of film and this was done without China, which has a later opening.
The 19th film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Avengers: Infinity War has become the highest opening day-grosser when it comes to Hollywood films in India. It net collection is whopping 31 crores in box office collections beating the previous record of Rs 12 crore held by Furious 7. The film got as many as 2,000 screens across India.
In Tamil Nadu, which is recovering from an over a month theatre strike, the film has come as a much-needed boost to the theatre brings audiences back. The film has released in nearly 200 screens in Tamil Nadu in English and Tamil.
Directed by the Russo brothers, Avengers: Infinity War is the most ambitious amassing of superheroes ever on the big screen and comes as Marvel Studios. Marvel spent 10 years methodically and carefully creating a universe of characters, worlds and stories that all led to this and, in doing so, created an event, unlike anything the business has ever seen.
Infinity War, which features more than two dozen superheroes fighting to save the universe, also broke the record for highest North American opening weekend, raking in $250 million at US and Canadian box offices.
It is to be noted that Baahubali also got the same release slot last year. With such a response, we can expect more records to be broken by Avengers: Infinity War which has been released across the country in English (53% of total box office collections), Hindi (39%), Tamil (6%) and Telugu (2%). Internationally, it is predicted that the film will make over $500 million in the opening weekend and has already raked in more than $100 million.
