MS Dhoni Movie Review

MS Dhoni : The Untold Story is the biopic of a living legend who is just 35 years of age , yes none other than MS Dhoni . Though Bollywood doesnt have a huge hit list considering Biopics , this movie was one of the most expected movie . With Sushant Singh as lead and Pandey (Baby fame ) as the director. The movie was said to reveal all the untold stories about MSD as the name ” The Untold Story “.

The story plot deals with the other side of Dhoni’s life . A young man from Ranchi to the Indian Cricket team is the story. The struggle and hardwork he did to become one of the most successful batsman cum Skipper and how he transferred as a cricketer from the Railway Ticket Collector. It deals with all his helicopter shot, his small smile and his calmness in field.

Comming to the performance department , Sushant Singh Rajput has actually lived as MS Dhoni in the film , his hardwork to make him look like Dhoni is clearly evident . This movie will be one of the biggest in his career. In many of the scenes we can actually see Dhoni’s mannerism on screen.

Apart from Ranput , the female lead Kiara Advani as Sakshi made her screenpresence well. Anupam Kher as Dhoni’s father also does his role with ease.

Neeraj Pandey’s direction requires a special mention , his detailing is simply great. The cinematography and dialogues were also a big advantage to the film.

Unlike Azhar, the film doesn’t change names and shows real players as are. In the first half the director creates a heartwarming small town atmosphere chearing him ! Some scenes were kept just for sake without having any relevance to the film.Even the low phase of Dhoni’s batting career is shown for a brief period. The romance portion were watchable.

The second half will get more controversial , such as some clash with senior players , some tough decisions to make etc…

Verdict : All Mahi fans get ready for the Goosebumps moments !!

Rating: 3.5 / 5
